Photo taken on replacement bus from Lewes to Three Bridges - intrigued by the sight of reflections on black screens. How much truth is there behind a screen, in a virtual reality?
Attended the Lumiere light show in Picadilly, London
Inspired by text - the distorsion of perceptions, ambiguosity of words and language - Ludwig Wittgeinstein

Subconscious Password by Chris Landreth
Content: subconscious mind, what happens in someone’s head when they try to recall a memory – ‘inside out’?
Simple story line – highly personal – light hearted
Brain Hack by Joe White
Content: very hot topic - religion and its authenticity, experimental
Manipulation of the audience: to engage them
He Took His Skin Off For Me by Ben Aston
Great make-up skills – almost too realistic for me
Focusing on one idea/facet of relationships and dramatising it to make the point
Between by Tim Bollinger
Weird, highly obscure plot
By isolating specific imagery – eg pigeons, roman baths – Bollinger engages the audience and encourages them to try link these objects/metaphors – active ‘understanding of the plot’ – highly subjective
Pace- Slow motion: to dramatise the stillness, blurry/really fast scenes – build up tension
The Centrifuge Brain Project by Till Nowak
Content: surreal, avant-guard yet set in the past, about rollercoasters and science
Made me think of the ‘Euthanasia Rollercoaster ride’ that I saw at the MACBA
Documentary style – aiming to educate, or give off an education vibe
Similar to brain hack to some extent
Less about the human experience, more about the science
Numbers by Robert Hloz
Content: futuristic, dystopian?,
Made me think of the movie ‘In Time’ with Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried – clever concept
Not complicating plot further – focusing on the two characters alone
A Truncated Story of Infinity by Paul Trillo
Content: possibilities /
Positive, optimistic vibe – message – accept how things turn out?
Really liked the way it was filmed – inception – parallel worlds – focused on the story of one character alone
