The exhibition was very adventurous I feel, showing enormous breadth and depth of the 'World of Pop' and breaking my preconception of 'pop art' being a mass-produced 2D print. I particularly liked the work of Nicola L.

Without a single doubt, the pencil, charcoal and ink drawings by the famous Italian artists were incredible. I have seen similar drawings at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence during the summer, but the collection at the Ashmolean was a lot more abundant.
The exhibition also included a contemporary response from Jenny Saville.

The long awaited Ai Weiwei exhibition. If you know me, you would know that I have been doting on Ai Weiwei's art, political and humanitarian work. (Check out my visit to the Blenheim Palace) This exhibition has given me mixed feelings.

I don't remember the name of the work, but I do remember what the tour guide had to say about this: apparently the artist customizes eggplants sculptures for those who intend to buy them, not just the outward appearance but also the filling of the sculpture. This eggplant belongs to the artist him/herself - it contains something along the lines of 'human hair and toenails'.... not too sure....

I couldn't appreciate Martin's paintings though I did admire their minimalistic precision and finesse.
It felt too restrained in my opinion, but I am certain that the artist purposely sets personal boundaries to her work.
